The Macallan has collaborated with renowned pastry chef Jordi Roca (from El Celler de Can Roca, which has three Michelin stars) on a smashing single malt with a decidedly chocolatey flavour profile. Macallan whisky maker Polly Logan worked with Roca as well as Casa Cacao chocolatier Damien Allsop on this expression, which is made with whiskies aged in sherry-seasoned European oak casks and sherry-seasoned American oak casks. Not only that, but the 100% recyclable presentation box also pays homage to the chocolatey characteristics of the whisky, having been made using husks from cacao pods.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Chocolate fondant, honey, oak, zesty lime and ginger.
Palate: Dark chocolate, honey, dates, vanilla and cinnamon.
