An oft unseen member of the Havana Club family of rums, the Añejo Reserva is a rather spicy little number, with a subtle sweetness shining beneath the vivid surface.
Nose: Good wafts of oak, tobacco and cinnamon, complimented by rich caramel and crushed nuts.
Palate: Many of the notes from the nose, but with the sweetness dialled back a bit to make room for the exciting, warming spices.
Finish: Peppery heat on the finish with a hint of smoke.
Overall: Quite an intense Cuban rum from the Havana Club selection.
