It's been a little while since we've seen a Cragganmore in the Diageo Special Release line-up, so we're very happy to see this Speyside single malt was picked for the 2014 squad! This 1988 vintage Cragganmore was aged in American oak casks for a lengthy 25 years before being bottled with an outturn of 3,372 bottles.
Nose: Green wood, apple stalks, shaving foam, juicy melon, crushed nuts, mint, dark caramel.
Palate: Vanilla, younger green wood notes, dried mango. Fairly creamy (especially with water) with some juicy malt towards the end.
Finish: More of that green wood is joined by some spicier oak and more dark caramel.
